Mini Ulta haul! Yes To, Essence, Benefit, & Nyx

I went over to Ulta the other day because I had a $5 off $15 or more receipt coupon,
and here's the damage I did ;)

I always buy the Yes To Cucumbers face wipes for removing makeup! I really like these and I just needed to repurchase some more. You do have to scrub a little harder to get eye makeup off and it can be kind of scrapey on your face but I just deal with it lol. First, I scrub off all the eyeliner, eyeshadow, BB cream, etc. that I wear. Then I use my face wash to get the leftovers off my face.

So Ulta was having a buy one get one 50% off for all the Yes To products, and I decided to try
the Yes To Grapefruit face wipes. I am definitely returning these!!! They aren't bumpy like other exfoliating products, but they have Vitamin C in them which is a natural exfoliator. I'm sure that these would work great for other skin types, but I have very dry skin and these burned and scraped my face like no other. I seriously felt like my face was on fire. I wish that I could keep using them! They have a great smell and I do like exfoliating a few days a week but these are
too harsh for me. So to all my fellow dry skin people, stay far far away from this!

I also picked up this $12 mini primer duo from Benefit. The POREfessional primer apparently helps minimize the appearance of pores, while the "That Gal" primer is for brightening. They do look extremely tiny when you take them out of the package, but I think its a great value for someone who isn't sure if they want the full size, or can't decide between the two. You get 7.5 ml in each and a tiny drop goes a long way. I haven't tried the "That Gal" primer yet, but I'm liking the POREfessional one so far, it goes on really smoothly. As for lasting power, I think it's good (I honestly haven't been paying too much attention lol). Now that it's getting hotter I guess this primer will be put to the test! Either way, if I don't like it anymore or end up buying the full version I'll let you guys know.

I also happened to pick up the gel eyeliner from Essence, and I love it! I actually think that it's better than the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner..... which is saying something considering I use that one every day. But it's about $3 or $4 at Ulta, which is much cheaper than the $7 or $8 that I've found the Maybelline one to be sometimes. Plus it's even creamier, doesn't budge, and is waterproof. I had a hard time scrubbing it off my face with my face wipes! It sounds too good to be true, but believe me....it is very true haha.

Nyx was also having a buy one get one 50% for almost all of their products. I decided to be brave and pick up some color eyeliners. I got Aqua Green in 03, and Gypsy Blue in 18. They're not the creamiest eyeliners in the world, but I still like them! They're the twist up/retractable kind so no need to sharpen. I definitely want to go back and pick up some black/white eyeliners too.

I love Gypsy Blue! Its great if you don't normally wear much color and want to branch out sometimes ( like me.... I can be boring). It's not too crazy and it's subtle enough that you can wear it just like a black eyeliner. From far away you can't really tell the difference, but once you get up close you can see the subtle color. Lurrrvee.
Also, I really like Aqua Green for adding some color under the eye. I drew it on and then used a flat smudger brush to blend it out.

Hope you liked my haul! xx

Review: Tarte emphasEYES Waterproof Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse

My first review! Sorry about the horrible picture quality, my HTC is on the last of its days and I need to invest in a good camera.

I have been dying to try this product after hearing so many great reviews. My eyebrows are extremely sparse and I was getting irritated by a cheap Korean eyebrow pencil I was using. I went to Ulta almost a month ago wanting to purchase this mousse in Medium Brown, but after swatching it in store I realized I needed Rich Brown. Ulta is horrible with restocking though! I only went to Ulta to use some reward points I have, and if they are out of your shade you should try a nearby Sephora. Anyway, this retails for $28.00, which seems expensive, but you definitely get your money's worth. It comes with a double ended brush, and just one tiny swipe of product gives you great pigmentation! I thought I would have to dig into it like a gel liner, but this little mousse is certainly lasting a long time.

Swatch of the mousse in Rich Brown:

I'd recommend the shade Rich Brown for those of you who have black/dark brown hair. This would probably be too dark for those with light brown hair, so I would go with Medium Brown which is lighter and has reddish tones. There's also a Taupe color which would probably suit blondes/very light brown hair.

I filled in the left side and didn't fill in the right side; I used only one swipe a for a natural look. Those of you who prefer a more dramatic brow or have more spaces to fill in can definitely still use this! The brush is in an angled eyeliner shape, which you can use to sharply define. Also the spoolie is very handy and you can brush your brows out for a natural look or if you want to try a gradient brow :) I love this mousse compared to eyeliner pencils, its so soft and there's no irritation from unsharpened wood scraping your eyes!
